Cookstown Pub Co.
Feeling like a taste of “the old country” I had in mind Sheppard’s pie or perhaps English style fish and chips and so made my way down to the Cookstown Pub Co., located in the back of the Foodland Plaza on Highway 89. The Pub is extremely inviting ~ a mix of “jolly old England” and a contemporary Canadian eatery. Complete with fireplace and a gorgeous full bar, the decor is really comfortable and as soon as you enter, makes you feel right at home. The menu is versatile and tempting complete with day of the week specials. Our meals were, “to die for”. We found exactly what we had craved for as well as a wide variety from traditional fare to wings to seafood dishes. We ate like kings. The portions were excellent and the quality and presentation bar none. Everyone left happily satisfied. Not to mention, of course, the beverage selection was perfect for any pub. No shortage of brew on tap, all colours and flavours. You’d be hard pressed not to find a favourite. Cheery, courteous service staff made our time at the Pub Co. worth the trip, and by any means not our last. Next time we’ll definitely make a point of experiencing the all you can eat Sunday brunch available between 11am and 2:30pm. Visit Mondays and Wednesdays for half price wings. Tuesdays for half price burgers. Thursdays bring half priced nachos. Fresh Catch Fridays feature mussels in signature sauce and then after10pm, Friday karaoke night. Team specials and children’s portions available upon request make this the place to be for friends and family alike. Cheers!
Jeff & Cheryl and their wonderful staff will make your visit one to remember.
